Zimblo's Religious Resources
The following sites are the best academic sources for an English speaking audience. Contact me for suggestions.
Sites
Bible
By far the best repository of Jewish literature, including the old testament. It allows for direct cross-referencing of Hebrew words. You can interactively annotate, and it's all saved to your profile. There are reading plans, you can read other’s notes. It really promotes education. There’s even a free mobile app that allows you to download everything for offline use. It also includes every other Jewish text, like Talmud or Kabbalah. For new testament stuff, BibleGateway is... fine.
Side note, the Oxford annotated study bible is the academic bible. Simple as.
Quran
This one is easy to remember quran.com. Unlike other Quran resources, this has audio recordings of the entire text. This is the intended way to experience the Quran.
Buddhism
Researching Buddhism is hard because of the diversity of beliefs. I was under the assumption that there were no stratified texts that all buddhists could agree on. sutta central proved me wrong. This site is nice to use, but there's no further learning tools beyond the text. The organization is the highlight.
Sikh
Sikh’s have a weirdly robust online presence. There’s many good resources. My favorite is Sikhnet, just for the ease of use. You can read the daily Hukamnama right now!
Occult
Probably everything you could want is on The Hermetic Library.
Misc
This is a plaintext repo of many texts. Anything I didn't mention above can likely be found here.
This is a comprehensive download link of every major religious text. Just the files, not much else. Use Calibre to manage ebook files. To get a sense for the volume, the download is 24.5G. For perspective, a plaintext Bible is 4.5M. So it's about 5575 bible's large.
Although not expressly religious, this site hosts many ancient texts that tend to be religious-adjacent.
